I just wanted to say somthing about safety behind the wheel, which is always a big concern of mine. There are so many distractions when driving today that can cause accidents in a flash. Coming to work this morning, I actually observed a woman brushing her teeth. Now , I've seen drivers do lots of strange things but this one I just could not believe. We all have an obligation to make the roads safer by concentrating on nothing but defensive driving. Talk with you later....Lee |

If you think Amazon .com is involved with enough...well, the company wants to create its own TV shows with help from customers. People will be able to submit their pitches for new series, and the two year old Amazon Studios unit will review them and pick about one per month to develop further, with an initial focus on comedies and children's shows. Amazon plans on giving writers up to ten -thousand dollars if they decide to option their submissions and if they're actually turned into programs, the creators will get another 55-thousand, along with a 5 percent cut of merchandise and other royalities. Do you find it unsettling the way that Amazon.com keeps trying to involve itself in more and more areas, often undercutting other retailers in ways they can't match? Just a thought.. I talked about this on my show today but its worth sharing again on my blog. If you're feeling the effects of brain drain these days, I found some really good ways to deal with it......Number 1..Take a brisk walk outdoors.....read something entertaining....go to a movie....play a sport of some kind, it'll wake you up mentally....break down your project into bite-sized chunks; Rome wasn't built in a day and take a little time to play a game or two, maybe do a crossword puzzle. You'd be surprised at how much better you'll feel and a good way to give your brain a jump start. I'm headed out to take a walk..talk with you again soon....Lee |

We all have heroes and mine was Dick Clark who died April 18th. He was a huge influence on my young years as I was trying to get into radio. I remember watching American Bandstand every week and wishing I could do the same thing Dick Clark was doing. He was having so much fun, not to mention the love we both had for music. I mean, think of the careers of singers that he launched....simply amazing when you ponder that tought. I don't believe there were any artists that did not perform on American Bandstand. I can tell you that New Year's Eve will never be the same without Dick Clark in Times Square to wish us a Happy New Year. I will really miss him....talk with you again soon.....Lee |

I have mixed feelings about this new trend but I wanted to let you know some info about it. While wedding expos help couples as they plan to join their lives together, divorce expos have now been springing up to aid those whose marriages are ending or have already divorced. The founders of this new concept say they're trying to put a positive spin on what can be a difficult time by including life coaches, financial planners and family counselors. If you have gone through a divorce in the past, do you think something like this would have been helpful for you. Just wondering? Talk with you later....Lee |

I'm really not a fan of Desperate Housewives but my next door neighbor Linda doesn't miss an episode. So here's the latest news, just in case you are a fan too. Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful termination case against ABC has ended in a mistrial. After more than 2 days of deliberations, the jury remained deadlocked. Nicollette went after the network, claiming that she was fired from the show because she complained that the show's creator, Marc Cherry, had struck her on the set. She was seeking nearly $6 million in damages. Personally, I don't think Nicollette is giving up and word has it that her lawyer plans to re-try the case. I'll keep you updated. I normally don't talk about sports when I do a little blogging but this is a big story.....You may know by now that Payton Manning is leaving the Indianapolis Colts after 14 years, the only NFL team he's ever played for . It was a decision by the owner to cut Peyton , who missed all of last season because of an injury, rather than pay him a $28-million bonus due this week. It was an emotional farewell for Peyton , who now becomes a free agent. He is the only four-time MVP in NFL history..now that's quite an accomplishment. Peyton will now be a coveted acquisition, as long as he can ease concerns about the series of neck operations that kept him out of play last season....He wants to continue playing the sport that he has such passion for...good luck Peyton..may your wishes and dreams come true...talk with you later....Lee |

I'm not sure if this applies to you but I can say for certain that it does not affect me. Have you heard about Nomophobia? A new term, it means the fear of being out of mobile phone contact and some 66 percent of people now are afflicited with Nomophobia. And just over 40 percent of people even have a spare mobile at home just in case they lose the first one. So let me ask the question....Are you more scared of being away from text/phone calls or e-mail? Would like to know if you are dealing with Nomophobia....talk with you again soon....Lee |

The holidays come and go so quickly these days but I hope you had a really memorable Valentine's Day ...I was so amazed at some of the facts surrounding this romantic day that I wanted to share some that you may not be aware of...here we go. Consumers put over 3.5 billion dollars towards a romantic evening on the town with their partner. Some 70 percent of singles said they would not mind a blind date for the occasion. Around 220-thousand wedding proposals are made on Valentine's Day. How lonely is this...15-percent of women will send themselves flowers and this one does not surprise me...some 367-million dollars is spent on Valentine's Day gifts for people's pets. Have a good work week and will talk with you later....Lee |
